Piñon Pine — Colorado

West of Boulder, Colorado, Flagstaff Road winds upward into the Rocky Mountains. A short hike with an old friend led to this vantage point, where evening light settled over Lost Gulch Overlook and the Front Range. Growing from a rocky outcrop, these wind-shaped pines stood quietly against the deep blue sky. It was the kind of scene that demanded a photograph.
