This is from my 2016 trip to Lake Tahoe. I was traveling from Georgia to California with a good friend when we stopped to explore the Nevada side of the lake. I discovered that having a tree identification guidebook is a good idea when hiking in new areas.

I had visited Lake Tahoe once before while driving a tour vehicle to a band in Sacramento, CA. My first trip was whirlwind and I literally ran around the shoreline at various points snapping pictures with an old camera. I fell in love with Lake Tahoe in 2014 on that visit, though. I hope to visit again some day.

Recently my mother created a handmade quilt based off of this exact photo.
