Franklin Mountains - Franklin Mountains State Park near El Paso, Texas

I have always had a fascination with West Texas ever since I first visited in the summer of 2012. Since then I have visited several times but was never able to spend much time there. Right before Christmas in 2021 Olivia and I planned a 10-day trip to Texas and spent several of those days in the El Paso area. Franklin Mountains State Park is easily accessible from El Paso via the Texas State Highway Loop 375 - Woodrow Bean Transmountain Drive. The highway passes through very mountainous terrain and offers views of exposed ancient Precambrian rock outcroppings. Olivia and I were mostly quiet as we explored the area shown in this photo. We walked down this pathway taking in our surroundings.
