This photograph was taken at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. Bear Lake is a clear alpine lake at 9,449 feet in elevation. The fog on the lake's surface, the mountains rising in the background, and tall evergreens all around created a surreal atmosphere. It was quiet except for my footsteps and faint raindrops landing on the ground. Evidence of time and changing landforms were everywhere. Glacial activity carved out Bear Lake and others in the area. Glaciers left behind moraines throughout the park over great periods of time. A few very small glaciers still remain in the park to this day. Bear Lake Coordinates: 40.31324°N 105.648222°W
